- I need help with a strange problem. I am have just been able to get internet
- access at my home. I am using Sun Belt as the provider . Theirr software
- package uses trumpet winsock. My sytem is a 386sx20 running Win3.1 with an
- external 14.4 Zoom v32bis fax modem. All my equipment has worked perfectly
- until I have tried to use Trumpet. My problem is that I can connect fine, once
- connected everything is finf, however- when I execute bye my system freezes
- and must be rebooted and the modem turned off and on. My provider suggested an
- irq conflict which wasn't the case. I now believe that my modem init string
- isn't setting my modem up properly for use( possibly due to some configuration
- that is set in non-volatile memory in the modem that need to be changed) with
- the bye script. I have tried different scripts and init strings without much
- sucess. The bye script is toggling dtr off and on and it appears that software
- is not seeing something froom the modem that it expects to see. If anyone has
- had this problem or can help I would really appreciate it. Thanks.
